Lini – Frequently Asked Questions about our Proprietary AI Engine

Modified on Thu, 26 Mar at 12:10 PM

As AI becomes a core part of the DiliTrust Suite, you may have questions about how it works, where your data goes, and what guarantees you have. This article addresses the most common questions from our Legal Teams.

1️⃣ Data & Privacy

Does DiliTrust use our data to train its AI models?

No. DiliTrust does not use client data to train its AI models. Your data remains strictly within your own tenant and is never shared across clients or used to improve shared models.

What about data leakage risks?

✅ DiliTrust trains its AI on synthetic datasets. This means no real or sensitive client information is ever involved in the training process, eliminating the risk of data leakage.

In CLM, does the AI learn from the labelled attributes I configure — including tenant-specific ones?

Yes. When you label attributes in your CLM tenant, those examples are used as in-context guidance to help the AI understand similar notions in new contracts. The AI leverages both the labelled examples and their descriptions (hints) to improve extraction accuracy — but only within your own tenant.

2️⃣ AI Technology & Architecture

Is DiliTrust's AI generative or extractive?

Today, DiliTrust's base AI is generative by nature. However, it is used for extraction purposes on certain features — so by a slight technical approximation, it can also be considered extractive depending on the use case. Each feature's AI type is clearly documented in the feature overview.

What AI providers does DiliTrust currently support?

The following AI providers are available on the market today (see Suite – Bring Your own LLM to DiliTrust):

  • OpenAI
  • Azure OpenAI
  • Mistral AI
  • Gemini
  • Anthropic

Currently integrated with DiliTrust:

  • OpenAI
  • Azure OpenAI

Need another provider? Integration with a different AI provider is possible on demand. Please reach out to your DiliTrust account manager to discuss your requirements.

What is the difference between OpenAI and Azure OpenAI?

Both providers offer similar AI models and capabilities, but there are key differences:

  • OpenAI — Provides APIs and services directly accessible to users, through OpenAI's own infrastructure.
  • Azure OpenAI — Offers the same AI models as OpenAI, but hosted on Microsoft Azure's cloud infrastructure. It includes additional enterprise-grade features, integrations, and is GDPR compliant.

✅ DiliTrust recommends Azure OpenAI for clients with strict data residency and compliance requirements.

3️⃣ Third-Party AI Providers & Responsibility

What happens if I choose to connect a different AI provider instead of DiliTrust's in-house model?

DiliTrust is committed to end-to-end security within its own infrastructure. However, if you choose to connect an external AI provider not natively supported by DiliTrust:

  • ❌ DiliTrust cannot be held responsible for where your data may transit once it leaves our secure environment.
  • ✅ This option may be useful to benefit from the performance of larger or more specialised models.
  • ❓ Before proceeding, ensure your legal and compliance teams have reviewed the data processing terms of the chosen provider.

⚠️ Always consult your DiliTrust account manager before configuring a third-party AI provider.
