Lini is the AI assistant in DiliTrust Contract Management. This article shows simple examples of what you can ask Lini, by role. Copy a prompt, replace the text in brackets, such as [topic], and adapt it to your needs.
To learn how each feature works, see CLM – Lini: Capabilities and Features.
✅ Before You Start
You can use Lini in three places:
- Ask Lini: click Lini in the CLM side panel. Use the paperclip icon to add documents.
- Ask Lini in Word: open a contract from CLM in Word, click the DiliTrust tab, then Ask Lini. Select some text, then choose Ask, Review, Summarize or Rewrite.
- Smart Reports: go to the Reports page and click Create Smart Report to ask a question about many contracts at once.

Risk Detector checks contracts against a playbook: the list of rules your company sets for each type of contract, such as NDAs. Your playbooks must be set up first.
⚖️ For Legal Teams
Check a contract from the other party
When you receive a contract from the other party, checking every clause against your company rules takes time.
What to do (Risk Detector, in Word):
- Click Review and launch the review. Then accept, change or reject each suggested edit.
Understand or rewrite a clause
When a clause is flagged, you still need to understand it and decide what to change.
Try asking (Ask Lini in Word, with the clause selected):
- “Summarize this clause in three bullet points.”
- “Rewrite this paragraph to better protect [your company] as [the supplier].”
Check a clause from your side
A clause can be fine for one party and risky for the other, so your role in the contract matters.
Try asking (Ask Lini in Word):
- “As the tenant, how are repair costs shared in this lease?”
- “Make this clause more protective for the tenant.”
Suggest changes without editing the text
When the other party sent the document, you may want to keep their text as it is.
What to do (Ask Lini in Word):
- Choose Apply as comment. Lini adds its suggestion as a comment and the text stays the same.
Summarize a long contract
Management or a board needs the key points of a long contract, not the full document.
Try asking (Ask Lini, with the contract added):
- “Summarize this agreement in one page for the board.”

Click Export to download the answer as a Word file.
Compare two contracts
Comparing two similar documents line by line, such as two side letters, makes it easy to miss a difference.
Try asking (Ask Lini, with the two documents added):
- “Compare liability clauses between these two agreements.”
- “Compare these two side letters and list the differences.”

Answer a legal question
Some questions are not about one contract, but finding a reliable answer still takes time.
Try asking (Ask Lini, with Web Search turned on):
- “What is the latest case law in [country] on [topic]? List the sources used.”
⭐ For Legal Operations and CLM Managers
Get the same information from many contracts
Answering the same question for hundreds of contracts means opening them one by one.
Try asking (Smart Reports):
- “Active vendor contracts expiring next quarter.”
- “Contracts with a penalty clause, with the penalty amount.”
Find contracts with a specific clause
When something happens, such as a supply problem, you need to know quickly which contracts are affected.
Try asking (Smart Reports):
- “Contracts that contain a force majeure clause.”
Prepare a report with charts
Management or an audit needs clear figures, not a long table.
Try asking (Ask Lini window, on the Smart Report results page):
- “Prepare the statistics for this report's results.”
Apply your legal rules to every contract
Guidelines kept in a separate file are hard to apply the same way every time.
What to do:
- Add each guideline as a playbook rule, for example “The lease term must not exceed five years.” Risk Detector then checks it automatically.
Follow compliance and time saved
You need to know where contracts stand and what AI brings to your team.
What to do:
- Open a reviewed contract in CLM to see its Risk Detector results.
- Go to Analytics, then AI Performance, to see the time saved each month.
✍ For Business Teams
Ask a question about a contract
When you are not a lawyer, legal wording can be hard to read.
Try asking (Ask Lini in Word):
- “What is the payment term policy?”
- “Does this contract include [obligation]?”
Understand a clause
You want to understand a clause before sending the contract to Legal.
Try asking (Ask Lini in Word, with the clause selected):
- “Summarize this clause in plain language.”
Do a first check before Legal
Sending every contract to Legal for a first reading slows everyone down.
What to do (Risk Detector, in Word):
- Run a review. It uses the rules set by Legal and suggests changes. Send the contract to Legal if points are still open.
Change a clause during a negotiation
Small changes, such as a new city for the courts, can take several rounds of editing.
Try asking (Ask Lini in Word, with the clause selected):
- “Change the jurisdiction from New York to Los Angeles.”
- “Rewrite this clause in plain English.”
Find information in several contracts
Asking Legal for each piece of information takes time on both sides.
Try asking (Smart Reports):
- “Active vendor contracts expiring next quarter.”
