? What is Ask Lini in Word?

Ask Lini is a smart AI assistant available directly inside Microsoft Word. It helps you review, summarize, rewrite, and ask questions about your contracts — without leaving the document. Whether you’re a lawyer or not, you can negotiate contracts autonomously while staying compliant with company policies and legal standards ⚖️.

⚙️ How to Access Ask Lini in Word

Step 1 — Open your contract in Word

Launch Microsoft Word and open any contract document stored in your CLM workspace.

Step 2 — Activate the DiliTrust Add-in

Click on the DiliTrust tab in the Word toolbar, then select Ask Lini to open the side panel.

Step 3 — Choose your AI action

In the panel, you’ll find four main prompts:

  • ? Ask — Ask any question about your contract (e.g., “What is the payment term policy?”)
  • ? Review — Have the AI check a clause for risks or compliance
  • ? Summarize — Get a clear and concise summary of selected text
  • ✏️ Rewrite — Improve or rephrase sections for clarity and consistency

? Using Prompts and Instructions

Step 1 — Select text

Highlight the section you want to analyze or edit.

Step 2 — Pick a prompt

Choose one of the four prompts from the dropdown menu.

Step 3 — Add instructions (optional)

Provide context for the AI to customize its answer, for example: “Rewrite this clause using plain English for a non-legal audience.”

Step 4 — Send your request

Click Send to generate a response. Ask Lini will process your query and display the output in the chat-style panel on the right side of Word

? What You Can Do with the Results

  • Apply in document: Insert the AI response directly into your contract.
  • ? Apply as comment: Keep the original text and add the AI’s feedback as a comment for review.
  • ? Restart review: You can launch a new analysis at any time.

The AI highlights the relevant text portion in the document so you can easily track changes and compare versions

? Example Use Cases

  • ? Review: Check that a severability clause follows best legal practice before approval.
  • ? Summarize: Generate a one-line overview of governing-law provisions for quick review.
  • ? Rewrite: Adapt the jurisdiction from New York to Los Angeles with a single click.

? Security and Privacy

Ask Lini follows DiliTrust’s security framework and does not store any contract data outside your organization’s environment. All processing complies with GDPR and DiliTrust’s standard AI governance policies ⚖️

❤️ Tips for Best Results

  • Be specific in your prompts (“Summarize this clause in plain language” works better than “Summarize”).
  • Use Review for compliance and risk analysis — it references company standards.
  • Remember that AI assistance is not a substitute for legal advice ☝.
