How to move a document / folder ?

You have uploaded a document / created a folder and want to move it to another folder?

You have two options for moving a folder / document:

• Drag & drop the document / folder
• Use the Move function > Use this option to avoid errors.

When you move a folder, you also move all the documents it contains.

⚠️ When you move a document / folder to a new folder, the access rights of the destination folder are automatically applied to your moved folder.
For example: you move the "Japan" folder to the "Asia" folder, automatically all users with access to the "Asia" folder will have access to the "Japan" folder.
If you wish to adapt these access rights, all you have to do is modify them. To learn more, see the dedicated article.

Also note that it is not possible to move a folder or document from the Shared with me section.

Drag & drop the document / folder

• Go to the folder containing the subfolder / document you want to move
• Click on the document / folder to move
• Drag and drop this document / folder into its destination folder
• Confirm the move of your document / folder

In order to be sure not to make a false manipulation in the drag and drop, check that the destination folder is correct when confirming the move. You can also prefer to use the Move function to avoid errors.

Use the Move function

Users can easily and safely move a document / folder from one location to another with the Move feature.

• Click on the document(s) / folder(s) to move to select them. They will then appear highlighted in yellow.
  You can select multiple documents (use CTRL or SHIFT to select multiple documents at the same time). They are then all moved.
• Click on the folder move icon  at the top right of the screen.
• Choose the destination folder by navigating in your folders using the back arrow and clicking on the desired destination folder.
