How to create a folder?

Modified on Thu, 13 Apr, 2023 at 11:21 AM

Before creating a folder on DiliTrust, we invite you to think about how you wish to organize your folders and the access rights you want to give your users on these folders.

To guide you in this reflection, we invite you to read the following article: How to organize DiliTrust folders?

Before creating a folder, answer these questions:

  • How do I want to organize my folders?
To guide you on this point, see the dedicated article.
  • Who should have access to these folders and the documents they contain?
What type of access will these users have: Consultation of the documents in the folder? Modification / addition of document in the folder?
To guide you on these two questions, see the dedicated article.

Once you have answered these questions, to create a folder, follow these steps:

  • Access the "Folders" section by clicking on the dedicated icon on the left of your screen.

Once in this "Folders" section on DiliTrust:

  • Click on the folder creation icon /helpdesk/attachments/7107429863 at the top right of your screen

  • Give a name to your folder
  • Click on Validate.

⚠️ After creating a folder, you will need to configure the access rights associated with it in order to determine who will have access to this folder.

  • If it is a subfolder, i.e. it is itself contained in another folder, the access rights of the folder in which it is located will be applied.
This is called the "inheritance principle", the subfolder inherits access rights from the parent folder.
For example, if you create a "France" sub-folder in your "Europe" folder, by default this "France" folder will be accessible to the same users and same teams as the "Europe" folder.

  • If it is not a sub-folder, by default you will be the only one with access to this folder.
In order to make it available to other users, you will need to modify the access rights.

To learn more about the access rights management of your folders, see the dedicated article.
