Creating the perfect Orgchart can take time, especially if you apply specific filters, custom colors, and manual layout adjustments. The saving feature allows you to preserve all this hard work. By saving a view, you ensure that you can retrieve your chart exactly as you configured it in just one click.
✅ How to save a view
Saving a view captures your entire setup so you never have to start from scratch.
- Click the Views button at the top of the interface.
- Select Save as a new view.
- Give your view a clear and descriptive name (for example, "Board Presentation" or "APAC Region").
⭐ Public Views vs. My Views
When you create a view, you can choose its visibility level depending on how you want to collaborate with your team:
- My Views (Private): These views are only visible to you. This is perfect for work in progress, personal simulations, or draft reports.
- Public Views: These views are shared with all users in your organization who have access to the Orgchart. This is ideal for providing a shared and official reference point for your entire team.
✨ Retrieving your saved data
When you load a saved view, you will find your chart exactly as you left it. The system remembers your filters, your displayed fields, and your exact visual layout.
The behavior of your saved view will depend slightly on how you created it:
- Standard views are dynamic: They preserve your exact configuration but will automatically include any recent updates made to your live database.
- Manual Edit Mode views are static: If you saved your view while using Manual Edit Mode, the chart is saved as a visual snapshot. When you open it again, the system will automatically launch Manual Edit Mode and display your customized chart exactly as it was, without pulling new data from the database.
⏩ Loading and updating views
Once your views are saved, managing them is very straightforward:
- Load a view: Open the Views menu and select any saved view from your list to instantly apply its configuration.
- Update a view: If you load a view, make further adjustments, and want to keep those changes permanently, simply open the Views menu and click Save and update view.
