⭐ Introduction
You can connect DiliTrust to the AI assistant your organisation already uses, such as Microsoft 365 Copilot. Once connected, you can ask questions in plain language and get answers based on your DiliTrust data, without opening the DiliTrust platform.
The connection relies on the DiliTrust MCP server. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect securely to business applications such as DiliTrust.
- If you use DiliTrust occasionally, you get the information you need without having to log in and find your way around the platform.
- If you use DiliTrust every day, you can check a contract or an entity without leaving the tool you are working in.
New capabilities will be added progressively. To see what is coming next, check the DiliTrust Public Roadmap.
✅ What you can do
The tables below list the tools available to your AI assistant, with a typical use case for each. You do not need to name a tool: ask your question in plain language and your assistant picks the right tool. Name the contract, company or person as precisely as possible, and give a date when it matters.
In both modules, your assistant can also list the DiliTrust tenants you have access to (list_tenants).
Contract Management (CLM)
| Tool | Use case | Example questions |
|---|---|---|
| clm_get_workspace | Make sure you are working in the right CLM workspace before searching. | "Which CLM workspace am I connected to?" |
| clm_search_documents | Get a filtered list of contracts (expiring soon, in signature, by reference) without browsing the platform. | "Which contracts expire between January and March 2027?" "Which contracts are in signature or in validation?" "Find the contract with reference [reference]." |
| clm_get_document clm_list_document_attributes clm_get_document_form clm_get_attribute_type | Check the key information of a contract (parties, dates, amounts and other attributes) before answering a question about it. | "Show me the key information of the contract [contract name]." |
| clm_get_contractual_relationship | Review a contract bundle: the main contract and its related documents. | "Which documents are linked to the contract [contract name]?" |
| clm_list_document_versions clm_list_document_comments | Follow the history of a contract and the discussions recorded on it. | "What are the latest comments on this contract?" |
| clm_get_document_workflow_status | Know where a contract stands (in validation, in signature) without opening its workflow. | "Where does the workflow stand on the contract [contract name]?" |
| clm_list_tasks clm_get_task | See the tasks open on a contract and their details. | "Which tasks are open on this contract?" |
| clm_search_folders clm_list_folders clm_get_folder clm_list_folder_documents | Find the contracts stored in a given folder. | "Which contracts are stored in the folder [folder name]?" |
| clm_list_smart_reports clm_get_smart_report clm_list_smart_report_results | Review the analysis of your contracts produced by an existing Smart Report. | "Show me the results of the Smart Report [report name]." |
| clm_list_templates clm_get_template clm_list_repositories clm_list_repository_entries | Check which templates and reference data are available. | "Which contract templates are available?" |
Legal Entity Management (LEM)
| Tool | Use case | Example questions |
|---|---|---|
| lem_search_companies lem_get_company | Get the company information needed for an internal check, an onboarding step or an external response. | "Prepare a profile of [company] with its legal form, country, address and registration numbers." |
| lem_get_company_governance | Check the recorded governance of a company and upcoming mandate end dates before preparing an action or a response. | "Who sits on the board of [company]?" "Which mandates have already ended?" |
| lem_get_company_shareholders | Review the ownership of a company at a given date, for example at year end. | "Who held the shares of [company] on 31 December 2025?" |
| lem_search_individuals lem_get_individual | Check the information recorded about a person. | "What information is recorded for [person]?" |
| lem_list_entity_folders lem_list_folder | Find the corporate documents stored for a company or a person. | "Which documents are stored for [company]?" |
| lem_read_document | Get a summary of a corporate document, such as the articles of association (PDF, Word or Excel files that contain text). | "Summarise the articles of association of [company]." |
| Several tools combined | Prepare a structured starting point to answer a bank request or another external request about a subsidiary. | "Prepare the information needed to answer this bank request about [subsidiary], including its company profile, current governance and shareholders." |
Always review the answer before sharing it externally or using it for a filing, an audit or a regulatory response.
⛔ Current limitations
- Read-only (all modules): your assistant cannot create, edit or delete anything, launch or advance a workflow, approve, sign, add comments or manage tasks. Make these changes directly in DiliTrust.
- No full contract text (CLM): your assistant works with recorded information (attributes, statuses, dates, references). It does not read the full text of contracts and cannot search for a word or a clause across them. To analyse contract content, use the results of an existing Smart Report.
- Existing Smart Reports only (CLM): your assistant reads existing reports and their results, but cannot create or run a new report. Create or run the report in DiliTrust, then ask your assistant to read its results.
- Up to 50 search results (LEM): company and individual searches return up to 50 results. If you get too many matches, add details such as the country, city or full name.
- One company at a time, direct shareholders only (LEM): your assistant does not calculate indirect ownership, build an ownership chart, identify the ultimate beneficial owner or review mandates across all your entities at once. Ask about each company separately.
- Scanned documents and files (all modules): scanned PDFs without a text layer cannot be read, and your assistant does not download files. Open the document in DiliTrust.
- Other modules not covered: Board Portal and Matter Management are not available through your AI assistant.
✋ Security & permissions
- Your DiliTrust rights apply everywhere. Your assistant only accesses the tenants, contracts, entities and documents you can already access in DiliTrust.
- Your connection is personal. Each person connects with their own DiliTrust account.
- Read-only. Your assistant cannot modify your DiliTrust data.
- Several assistants are possible. You can connect more than one AI assistant to DiliTrust. Each connection is set up separately, and your DiliTrust rights apply the same way in each one.

❓ FAQ
What is the difference between my AI assistant, Lini and the DiliTrust Public API?
- Your AI assistant (for example Microsoft 365 Copilot) is the tool you already use outside DiliTrust. Connected to DiliTrust, it lets you look up your CLM and LEM data from there.
- Lini is the AI assistant built into the DiliTrust platform. See Suite – Ask Lini: Your AI Assistant in the DiliTrust Suite.
- The DiliTrust Public API is for developers who build their own integrations. See DiliTrust MCP Server: Connect Your AI Tools to DiliTrust.
Can my AI assistant change my data in DiliTrust?
No. Access is read-only. Your assistant can look up information, but cannot create, edit or delete anything in DiliTrust.
Why can't my assistant find a contract or a company?
Check that you can see it in DiliTrust with your own account, and that you are asking about the right tenant. For LEM searches, add more details if you get too many results (searches return up to 50 results).
Why is a document returned empty?
The document is probably a scanned PDF without a text layer. Your assistant cannot read this type of file.
Can my AI assistant help me learn how to use DiliTrust?
Yes, if your assistant uses the DiliTrust Help Center as a knowledge source. For Microsoft Copilot Studio, see Step 3 of Create a Microsoft Copilot Studio agent connected to DiliTrust.
